Hey guys, so with the looong laundry list of todo’s for my beloved Cadillac one of them is new wheels. The prices asked for stock rims is ridiculous. Like $200 each for non refurbished wheels. which is crazy! But I also like the look of black with a chrome lip and think it would really look nice on my ride.

I’ve been eye balling these for a while and I know the size and bolt pattern is good. But I’m not sure what the offset is?? will these work for me?
Here’s what they look like in silver and chrome.. dont have the black with chrome lip. I even like this look. It would be better black n chrome though.

whats the offset on your caddy for its stock wheels?
Those Enkei’s, which are nice, are 38mm

that’s the thing. I don’t know and can’t seem to find it. What does offset refer to exactly? I’m dumb when it comes to wheels. Like I said I know the size 16x7 is good. I know the bolt pattern 5-115 is good.. but no idea what they even mean by offset?
And I’m a big fan of those wheels, I can only find the silver with chrome lip in a configuration that has my car :( but I know it will look sweet!

offset basically means how much the wheel will either stick out from the fender.
what is your exact car? I can do some digging

According to this site ^, stock offset is around 55mm. So, the 38 mm will push the wheel out a little but, but will still look somewhat inset to the fender.. as in it won’t rub, or stick out.
The closer to stock offset you are (lets say +55) then the closer the wheel is to the strut. The more you go out (lets say a +33 offset) then the farther way (or pushed out) they are from the strut.. Hopefully that makes sense.

Oh and btw - anything on TireRack works for your car.. like whatever they specify (unless you have aftermarket components, such as struts or big brake kits) they should fit 100%.

hahaha, oh god no! I’d go to a 17 or maybe 18 but I just bought my tires less than 5k miles ago and they were not cheap. haha So instead of dropping another 5-600 for rubber ontop of the 450 for wheels I’m gonna stay at 16's. but that looks just wrong..

So with a 38mm offset they would be pushed further out in the wheel wells but not enough that it would cause rubbing? That would be great, the stock wheels sit too far in, it would look much nicer with them a bit out from where they sit. which based on that link it looks like they have a 50mm offset, so that makes sense that they are pushed in if i understand correctly.

Yeah - they should be fine (keyword should) from what I recall actually seeing on the STS’s is the wheel being so far inset it looks funny, but a 38mm should fit the bill well. It won’t rub, unless you put some large rubber in them and a heavy drop.
The 38 mm will pull the wheel out from the wells closer to the bodywork of the car, but not so much where it will hit everything.. I don’t think it’s that much of a difference. 17 mm push outwards.
